Recorded at Minirock Studio and Tritonus summer / late fall 2001 - Produced by Uwe Sabirowsky and Billy Gould

After Ali's departure and Torsten Scholz being the new bassist, they recorded demos and eventually headed into the Minirock Studio in the summer of 2001. Choosing Launched's producer Uwe Sabirowsky, they began working on a new album with the working title "The Ordinary Me", which is why the first song Not Ready To Rock begins with „My name is Tom and I am funky“. "The ordinary me" is also a lyric from the song Mirrored. The band wasn't satisfied with the recordings they made with Uwe Sabirowsky. They've recorded amazing songs like Let Me In and Summer, but they just didn't have enough good songs. Arnim Teutoburg-Weiß commentates on the phase like this: „I thought we'd make a great album. I mean, we did! - But it's only half-great. We did record some incredible songs there, Let Me in for example. We just didn't have enough songs.“
After the Unsichtbare-Tour in support of Die Ärzte, the band gained motivation again. Thomas Götz recalls the band meeting up at a gas station a few days after the tour to have a discussion about how things are going for the album. They were excited, but wanted someone new to produce the second half of the album. Faith No More bassist and Beatsteaks idol Billy Gould turned out to be a good idea. He was in Berlin at the time and liked their previous album Launched. They delayed the release of the album and decided to start working on it again. Peter Baumann remembers sending Billy demos they still kind of wanted to record. After one whole year of recording, touring, recording and so on, the album was finally finished. The first single Summer was never published as an official single because there was a delay when pressing the CDs. It was later released on the beatstuff.de merch shop, which technically made Let Me In be the first single. Let Me In was played constantly at MTV and Viva, which helped the band gain popularity. After Living Targets released, the band were able to do their first headliner tour.
